I Ride Campaign

Communities Putting Prevention to Work

The recent “I Ride” campaign was an initiative aimed at residents of Douglas County with two objectives – to increase bike ridership and promote bike safety. Emspace developed a three-phase launch, by reaching out to current cyclists, active-inclined people, and the general public. Ads promoting cycling and bike safety were placed on billboards and buses, and were accompanied with radio spots. In addition, a website was developed and launched to help distribute information on bike-related events, promote bike safety awareness and increase excitement about cycling opportunities in Douglas County. Safety information for bicyclists and motorists was distributed to area residents through Department of Motor Vehicles offices throughout Omaha and through events such as “Dust Off Your Bike”, and programming to support bike safety was developed for Boy and Girl Scouts throughout Omaha.
