Communities Putting Prevention to Work

In an effort to cultivate a physical and cultural environment that allows all residents of Omaha and Douglas County to make a healthy choice, at any time and in any place, “Partners for a Healthy City” works with businesses, faith-based organizations, physician’s offices and community organizations throughout the area. The goal is to gather pledges to implement at least one policy change related to creating opportunities for physical activity and/or making healthy food and beverage choices available in their environments. The logo, website, tool kits for trainers, and promotional materials for the partners were developed by Emspace in order to get the word out about this initiative. A website was developed and maintained to share success stories and keep participating organizations connected to the initiative and to each other. This ongoing project has reached nearly 400 organizations to date and continues to grow.
